The skin changes that naturally occur as we get older are accelerated by sun exposure. The sunlight can make wonders, as we see plants grow and people smile. And we should be happy to enjoy the nature and the outdoors as much as possible. To age well and keep a healthy looking skin, we need to take some precautions before enjoying the sun.

To give a short explanation: Your skin is composed of the epidermis (the outer layer), the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. In the dermis we have proteins such as collagen, elastin along with other important fibers that provides structure and elasticity. These proteins are important for a vibrant and healthy looking skin. UVA and UVB radiation from the sun damages these proteins, and increase the risk of skin cancers and photoaging. Photoaging is the main cause of premature aging of the skin such as wrinkles, sagging skin, and an uneven pigmentation.

Signs of photoaging can be reduced. One way is to prevent the amount of UVA- and UVB- radiation exposure. We recommend to use a sun factor 30 that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. In addition we recommend to provide shade. Use sun glasses and wear a hat or a cap.

Yes, daily, whether the sun is out there on a blue sky or hidden behind grey clouds!
